LocalMapattack.com was started as service to help local businesses in 2007. Todd Bryson, the founder (that’s me) bought a preschool in 2003. I learned how to get my business on the map through trial and error. It took me about 4 years to finally figure out how to get our business on the first page map listing. Then it took another year to figure out how to get it to #1 on the map.

I have been studying best practices for years and have discovered the recipe for success to getting businesses to rank highly on page 1 of Google Maps. The only way to really dominate the maps is to slowly add more and more details not only to your map listing, but to outside listings as well.

When we set up a map listing within Google Local Business Center we optimize it within Google. This means we add keywords in such a way that Google will really like your listing. We then add your business to over 100 local directories. And we hand submit to those directories.

The idea behind hand submitting to these local directories has proven to be what has really inmproved our ranking within Google Maps. When we hand submit listings we are able to add photos and detailed descriptions. We have noticed that once we do this that typically our businesses that we set up are ranking much higher with the directories themselves.

In the beginning we didnt think much of Local Map Attack as a full blown business that could support itself. But then more and more businesses asked us to do the work. And then, as the dollars that used to flow into the paper yellow pages starting flowing online instead, things got busy.
